One of the best ways to decorate your house is with second hand finds. This includes everything from furniture to antiques. If you want to give your house the shabby chic look, you can do so by starting with second hand finds. Once you get the furniture, fix it up so that it looks nice, but worn.

For those area rugs that you intend to keep, give them a good wash. Consider bringing the rugs to a professional cleaner for a thorough wash. Your rugs will look fresher than ever. If you have some money to spare, think about buying some new pieces to add to your decors or to change some existing rugs, especially in the main rooms like the living room and bedroom.

Thrift shops and other discount outlets have an amazing array of goods. Take your time browsing the aisles and you might just find the perfect piece for your dining table or a unique artwork for your living room wall. What’s great about shopping in second hand stores is the price. You’ll get to buy more for a lot less.
