Answering Machine Digital Phone Benefits
November 6th, 2009
People today are always talking to each other on the phone. Everyone has a cell phone, and just about every leaves and receives voice mails from other people as well. The cell phone service provider takes care of everything. But what if you have a land line phone as well and want to receive messages through it? Luckily today there are answering machine options that don’t require little tapes and fast forwarding. Just like with cell phones, the answering systems are digital as well. This is very convenient, as there are no tapes or fast forwarding/rewinding involved. And you won’t have to worry about replacing tapes either.
An answering machine digital phone allows you to quickly access any messages on the machine with the press of a button. You no longer have to rewind a tape and wait, now all you need to do is press a button and you can go through all of your messages in a flash.
You have total control over which messages you save and which ones you toss. Some models even allow you to access the messages via a remote control. Say you were away on vacation for two weeks and wanted to see if anyone had called the house and left a message. You can also set it to allow you to call your house from any phone and you typically press a PIN code which lets you listen to your messages remotely. All of the functions of your answer machine digital phone are available remotely as well as if you were standing in front of it. It is very much like your cell phone’s voice mail. It couldn’t be any easier.
All answering machine digital phones these days are fully compatible with either your typical RJ-11 telephone wall jack or the RJ-45 jacks that are provided by DSL providers. If you have digital cable television, high-speed internet, or digital phone in your house, chances are you have a special modem which you would plug the answer machine digital phone into. Your wall jacks are old news. However, you may not have subscription cable service nor a digital phone carrier.
If this is the case for you, then you are going to have to plug the machine into your standard everyday phone jack. This is the method that has been used for decades, and it is still viable today. It’s a small square plug which is connected to the answer machine on one end, and the receptacle on the other. The RJ-45 used in by cable providers appears similar but is much wider, and those types are used for broadband internet connections. Either way, your new answer machine digital phone can be used with little to no installation headache. Just make sure you leave a personal greeting so callers know they’ve reached you.
If you have a land line but do not like the traditional tape answering machines, then a answering machine digital phone might be more down your alley.
